HAFA Relocation Assistance

$3,000 Relocation Assistance For Homeowner 

When a short sale transaction is successfully closed, the approved HAFA program allocates $3,000 in relocation assistance to the borrower. The $3,000.00 is deducted from the properties sale proceeds.

The title company includes will add this amount to the HUD-1 statement before closing. They will then give a check to the borrower at the same time that all other payments are disbursed at closing.

HAFA will reimburse loan servicers for this amount after the transaction has been properly reported.

The HAFA program began on April 5, 2010. As of this writing, all HAFA agreements must be finalized and signed by December 31, 2012.
